I probably know zip on this subject, but what I have read was that the Koreans do

not have a model railroad/toy train culture...the Japanese do and did, which is why

it was stated they quickly took to making brass model trains immediately after the

war.  I have seen models of Japanese rolling stock, but certainly none of anything

defined as Korean. So there may not be any train related hobby shops in Korea....if you find out differently, please enlighten us all.

Correct on the train culture.  It took about 45 minutes to explain an electric train that is a miniature replica.  After showing some pictures of a Lionel SD70ACe I did get something across, but then it was to the level of Thomas toy trains. After a bit more time they understood.  Trains as a hobby is not part of the culture.

They put me in contact with Boorim Precision (boorim precision co.inc).  They appear to be a manufacturer of trains, but I can go see them.  It is 30 km outside of Seoul, so about 90 minutes to get there.  I am not sure if I will be able to make it.

I went though the Latte shopping complex. Wall to wall people.  Seoul is a very modern city, but they need to fix their sewer system. There is often the smell of sewer gasses around the city.

Thanks for the replies.
