Does anyone know of any train shows before Christmas that would be convenient to the Baltimore/York corridor. Was planning to take my grandson to Greenbergs Timonium tomorrow but he came down with pneumonia and won't be up for it. Anything within an hours drive would be OK. Push comes to shove we could always hit M.B. Kleins and let him go nuts with the train money.

King of Prussia is not the best show to take kids to. Limited space usually results in few or no modular layouts.

Is Strasburg near enough? They run trains with Santa, and the extra-cost parlor car has a Christmas tree. Then you can go see all the other stuff nearby, as well as  www.nationalchristmascenter.com , only 10 minutes away.

Whistle stop train show. Williamsports oldest and largest train show since 1979. December 2 Sunday. 2012. Woodward fire hall Route 220 Williamsport PA. 8:00-3:00. $3.00 admission. Over 100 tables. I have never been to it. I have no idea what scale it is. You should be able to track down info on web. Their phone is 570-326-4280.

Jerry, My club the Black Diamond Society of Model Engineers has open houses scheduled this weekend Saturday and Sunday 2:00 - 5:00pm. Admission is $4 per adult children are free. We do the open houses again the first two weekends in January. We have 2&3 rail O downstairs plus On30 & S. Upstairs is HO Johnb

If you can wait until January, the next Greenberg show will be at the York Fairgrounds in the Orange Hall (Toyota Hall). I think it's the first or second weekend. Might be the better deal for your Grandson, since he may get a little extra cash as a present  for Christmas (I used to take my gift money and hit the local "Taubman's" hardware store and the old "Two Guys" store the day after Christmas for the big sales that nobody has anymore. If you're from Baltimore, you'll remember those!)

Art, I do remember the old Two Guys after Christmas sale at the old Dundalk store, it was a mob scene. A kid with a hundred dollars could leave with a major haul. It looks like me and the munchkin will be hitting Kleins next weekend, he's pretty bummed about not going to the show, we've kind of made a tradition of dropping off toys at the local Toys For Tots up here in Schrewsbury and then hitting the show followed by pizza at Squires down in Dundalk. Only good thing is he wants a Ravens boxcar and I found one for him for Christmas and with my luck someone at the show will have one and then he'd obsess on us buying it and the resulting issues that would arise from not buying it. At York he bought a Miami Doplhins engine that needed a reverse unit and that was all he wanted to find for the rest of the show, he had a single minded fixation on finding a reverse unit and that was all he wanted, he's as bad as us old guys with his trains!
