The BIG E train show in Springfield Mass is a BIG show. January 24th and 25th. Around 25,000 attendees. All gauges, lots of HO, but plenty of O gauge. Bring $$$ !

Ed provided a link to the web site for the Big E. Most of your questions about that show should be answered there.
Nobody can say which show is better. The Big "E" show is larger, and gets more crowded. Weather permitting, I go to both.
If it's any help:
Last year the Utica show did not have any Lionel parts vendors
Last year all I purchased at the Big "E" were a couple of "project" items.
Go to both and then you can tell us which is better in your opinion.

Bnsf,
The only train meets I know of that are mostly O are the TCA meet in York PA., and the small, specialty 2 rail - 3 rail scale O meets such as Strasburg. Just about every other show I have ever been to has been a mix of scales with HO predominating.
The Springfield meet will have more HO than O, but has so many vendors in four buildings total that it will have more O in total than your average meet, including Utica.
You've really got to try them yourself and decide. Nobody can guarantee that they will have what you are looking for. By definition, train meets are treasure hunts where you never really know what you will find. That's what keeps me going to them!

Go to the Big E. Best by far, I my opinion.
