Did you put a freshly charged battery in the tender?

No!Its been a long while since I fired her up.But if that all that is needed I will get a battery.I thought only the protosound models needed batteries.I will shelf it for now.No since in making things even badder.Oh what kind of battery do I need to get?
Any body out there with some ideas?Any help will be greatly greatful for any help.
I was told on another thread under MTH that there is no battery if the Railking locomotive does not have ProtoSounds.
Look at 2nd to last reply under MTH Proto 1 Engines with Original Battery that can be found in the MTH General Topics Forum.

When in doubt, take the 4 screws out of the bottom of the tender and have a look inside. I don’t think that engine has a battery, but can’t be 100% sure with out seeing the box or the item no. .........so your best bet is to be sure....I wouldn’t run the engine anymore until you investigate....Pat

I have been at work on the four screws.I having trouble with the last one.Its almost like its welded in there.
I think its ether locked in neutral some how.I started running it early today running it.Then I noticed the head light was not working. So I cleaned the pick up rollers and cleaned the tracks.O.k. the head light is now working. Then it started out working. Then it would only go in reverse. Now it does not move at all.Every thing else works it just will not move.I tried taking the shell of the tender off.But I could not get one screw off.So I thinking of calling a repairman.
