The engineers that designed that junction had very sharp pencils.
That was a little unnerving...
Looked like one was hitting that gate too.
Why would that be unnerving? You've got two trains on standard double-track spacing doing exactly what the track was designed to do. There is nothing unusual about this at all and I'll bet it happens every day at this junction.
It is no big deal.

I don't know Rich, just looked a little close to me. Maybe it wasn't as close as it looked.
Wow. I am sure they are used to going through that everyday . I would just worry that the switch wasnt in the right position and that whole video would have a different outcome. I am sure the passengers are looking twice though..lol
I remember riding a train like that. The train next to mine seemed so close that I could have shared a sandwich with a passenger through our windows. Like this video, it lasted for a short time, and then both trains moved away from each other.
