Was wondering if anybody had problems with these guys. Seems too cheap on some things?

I have bought from them numerous times (mail order and at York). I have seen their Brooklyn store in person. They are selling the same trains everyone else is and they are doing so at great prices. By all means buy from them. They are one of the largest train dealers in the country. You can't go wrong buying from them.

They are outstanding, would not hesitate to buy from them.
Short and sweet. Have your part #'s ready to go.
I ordered something, they actually called me, my cell phone, a real person to give me an update!!!
Never expected them to call me directly to discuss an item I ordered but they did.
Now that's service!!
They're Great! Well I may be a little biased.
Yes, old business, great prices, and one day, I am going to visit them....Yes, Its on my to do list when I retire.....Good Post
Last year ordered a Bachmann 2-10-2 N gauge loco from them. After a hour of running the main rod came off. Called them for an exchange and they sent me a prepaid shipping label to send it back. Talking about a $100 item. Yes, great service.
I grew up on Long Island and shopped at Trainland (owned by the same family as Trainworld) many times for many years. I always had good experiences and enjoyed going to the store. Now that I've moved to Florida I won't be able to visit the store but I certainly will order from them.
Problems? Never! Been buying from Trainworld/Trainland via telephone and web since the 1980's. Completely satisfied with the selection and service.

They have blow outs on products that have those low prices. Grab 'em quick!
Yep. Good folks.
But, as stated above, have your numbers ready...
Have made occasional purchases for about 20 years. Never a problem.
Never a problem. I will buy from them again. But at those prices things may not last!
Bought two of the Lionel bridges this morning... Already shipped and will be here tomorrow. Always receive great fast service. I don't order a lot from them but when I do I'm always impressed with them!
They're great in my experience. I've bought a couple items from them recently. In one case I jumped the gun and preordered a Lionel N5 caboose to go with a K-Line EP-5 I bought on eBay. When the EP-5 arrived, it wasn't in the condition it was described and had to go back. They switched road names for me on the caboose order (the one I switched to was in stock) and sent it out a couple days later.
They are a very good store to order from. They have great product selection, competitive prices and packaged their shipments better than most stores do. As they stated before, have the numbers ready for they are fast.
Great people, service support and prices. It sure would be nice if I had a train shop like them in Texas.
The late Peter Bianco's family carries on the tradition of this fine business!
Some of us are old enough to remember the patriarch and founder, Peter Bianco!
They are great to work with. Check out their product videos.
Whats da numba hunny?
I have bought some stuff from them over the years at York and have always found them to be good to deal with.
I have been buying from the Bianco family since I was 13. Buy with confidence. Just wish I didn't have to pay the stupid 8,75% NY sales tax
I am lucky in that I live one town away from their Lynbrook store- Trainland. They have a great inventory of trains in all gauges and the Bianco family has made service and selection Number One!
Been buying for years. Always good dealings but one. Lionel PRR T1 arrived defective and I was going to have to pay $50 to ship it for repair......then the same to get it back.......after spending almost $700 I did not feel the need to spend another $100 to have a whole loco. Still does not smoke!!
The Trainworld folks are terrific. Agree with all above. They are great at customer service, especially when you have a question or a real problem. They have earned my highest recommendation.

I have had nothing but good experiences with Ken and the Trainworld crew over MANY years, dating back, I believe, to the 80s. I love the no-nonsense ladies who handle the phone orders and who just remind me of the fast-paced environment that is New York.
I have bought from them a few times, always great prices. Never had a problem with anything I bought from them.
The reason for low prices is because they move a lot of inventory and can buy in quantity and that helps keep prices low.

Know anyone in New Jersey?
Mike
Hi Mike,
YEs I've been dealing with the Train Station in Mountain Lakes NJ for over 10 years. Excellent repair service and always has at least 3 major sales a year offering really good stuff. Do not go to train store in Cedar Grove NJ.

That would be nice but not the same.
"Howdy. What number are y'all fixin' to order, darlin'?"
What, me worry?
The best hobby store in Nassau County, bar none!
Like Allan, I've ordered from them as far back as the early-mid 1980s and NEVER had any issues or problems.....from the pages of Model Railroader magazine.
You know - The Dark Times....before we had two print publications dedicated to our segment of the hobby.
Brooklyn store is Train World. Long Island store is Trainland. Just to clarify, since the subject line is wrong.
Train World is a well-established business. I have ordered by mail and bought in store there. I'm a satisfied customer. Very good prices, but not exceptionally cheaper when compared to other online discount dealers for nonclearance items.
So I guess I'm wondering what prompted you to ask this question in the first place.
no problems
