"A one-year-old boy and a man in his 40s were killed after their SUV collided with a Quebec City-bound Via Rail passenger train east of..."

Collided with? Or were in the path of...?

I'm thinking it's more the latter. You'd think people know by now what happens. My grandfather is missing a kidney because of a car/train collision that happened at 30 mph when his dad was trying to run the crossing. Every single time I'm at an uncontrolled grade level crossing, I stop and look, just like all the big trucks have that sticker on the back of the trailers.

It's not worth the risk. You might get away with it once or twice or a dozen times... but eventually it'll catch up to you and put you in a world of hurt, or worse. Just isn't worth it.
