Neither rain, nor sleet, not snow...   will keep us from attending this year's Trainstock!

We are halfway there and moving again in the morning.  Longtime member Steve Maier suggested we make the trek from NC this weekend to be a part of the event so I agreed wholeheartedly having never been before. I guess I became aware of these premiere gatherings back 8 or 9 years ago but was never able to have things come together to make it.

I'm looking forward to seeing all you folks and meeting many of you for the first time. Thanks Steve.

We stopped at the Virginia Transportation Museum this afternoon and will hopefully hit Mario's Trains in the morning as we are about 30 minutes south at Woodstock VA. Maybe Roadside America too depending on the weather...IMG_4236IMG_0232

Sam;

Be careful driving... just watched the weather on CBS New York... tomorrow shouldn’t be to bad (as long as you’re not on the road too early). The biggest issue will be Saturday afternoon into Sunday - they are talking snow, switching to sleet/freezing rain (up to .65 in.) especially south of Patterson, NJ/NYC. As Ben mentioned earlier, the snow is expected to start around 3:00PM Saturday, so I’d plan accordingly.

I’m about an hour or so north of Patterson -I plan on getting there around opening (10:00AM), and get back on the road back to the Poconos by 12:30 or so... I am not a fan of driving in snow!!!

Yes...snow will be no fun.  I live 2 hrs away to the south and the snow is going to begin to fall around 1 pm where I live on Saturday.  I may have to leave around noon to come home.

I really dislike winter weather.  I never thought I'd be a snowbird if I ever retire, but the last couple of years I've really grown tired of the cold, snow and lack of sunlight during the winter.

Safe travels everyone!

-Greg
