Ordered a set of Preiser figures from Trainz on eBay last week (65600) and they sent me the wrong set (65601). Sent them a note on the error and they wrote back saying they'd ship out the correct set right away and that I could keep the other set. These unpainted figure sets go for $25-30 when you can find them.

I would not have expected them to say keep the other set. Over the top customer service!

From time to time people post about poor online buying experiences; this isn't one of those.

Good to hear. I've had a few mix ups with them too over the years. Mainly over selling product. At times I've seen them list the same item on their auction, eBay and their retail store page.  So, if two people go to purchase the same item from different sites, then someone is out of luck. When I was the unlucky one, I mentioned to their Customer Care rep a while back they need to take a better look at their inventory management process. Nice they came through for you, though.

I had the same situation as MOON, that the first item they sent was wrong, they sent the correct item, and was told to keep the wrong item.  Apparently it’s too much of a problem with dealing with returns.  They have such a huge inventory of items, that it’s easier for them to “Take it on the chin”, so to speak.  Never had any other problems, dealing with Trainz.
