Transformer for MTH bump n go

This was discussed recently in a similar topic.  There is some speed variablilty among different vintages of MTH trolleys in how they respond to the same control voltage.

For slower speed operation a transformer that can be adjusted from 0 volts and upwards works best.

I used a little Lionel 40W Powermax for mine.  Worked okay for me.  I was powering the 30-5146 Christmas trolley from the 2016 RTR catalog.
