My Pennsy Consolidation died. All functions except movement work. I checked and there is no voltage to the motor from the Driver PCB ( This is a TMCC engine). While looking over the driver board I moved the half moon shaped transistor near the white connectors and it sheared off at the lead. Looking at the numbers etched on it I cannot find any cross reference to it or a replacement. Does anyone know what number this transistor is?

Thanks,

Chet

The EM2 version is the one I have and the number etched on it is S80721AN. I also cannot find it or a cross referenced number. I'd hate to spend $99 for a $.50 transistor.

I can't find your number or either of mine in any semi-conductor database.

I just googled the entire number and got a few hits, I put a RFQ and see what happens.

6-28086. I avoid brokers and go directly with distributor such as Allied.

Be aware if this is one of the parts brokers that find parts for you, you will pay through the nose for the part.
Do you happen to know the Lionel stock number for the engine?

Pete
Yep, that's it. The sticker on the IC next to it is "EM2" and on the multi pin white connector is "LY5000" with a stamped "DMD" on it.

I'm not a premium member, so how do I contact you without posting my e-mail for every spammer to see? I am interested in the board.

My email is in my profile.  If you post an email in your profile, you have to be a board member and specifically open the profile to see it, so Internet scanners don't find those.

If you're concerned about your email, just get a free account on gmail and use that, if too many spammers get sending you stuff, abandon the email address and get a new one.

Don't even need to worry about that.  Just keep using that account for all non-family and non-business stuff.  The spam filters on email services nowadays are pretty decent compared to how they used to be.

I must be missing something, I cannot find anyone's e-mail or how to find it. so I will post my throw away:

I've worked in a high tech industry for 30 years, think I would know better how to use a forum like this...
