OK...so I purchased a DCS Wifi unit back in January and it has worked flawlessly....my trains ran better than ever...I was ready to write Mr. Wolf a thank you note I was so elated and  so proud of wifi .... until today.....All my engines went into Inactive List .... I have reloaded the firmware up date ....I have reinstalled TIU software 5.0....I reconnected to my home note work...I even tried just running on the MTH network....All I get is a request failed warning or a request timed out.....I have powered down and powered back up again....During my numerous attempt to connect I had a spark of hope when one engine showed up....I started it  and than lost it to the inactive list....Also...all 3 lights are on my wifi  module....blue wifi...purple TIU and  of course green  for power. Any ideas what to do next?    Should I try the  hard reset on the WIFI module?

Sincerely,

Robert

Hi Barry ...thanks for the reply,,,,yes I definitely  updated the WIU to 1.1 ( I did it twice to be sure) ...I use an iPad....now all I did  was delete the app and reinstall it  so I spume that the newly installed app is the latest version.

Also, I managed to get two engines into the active list...ran them for a few seconds and then when I tried to put another engine on the track and install, I lost the two engines previously successful installed engines into inactive world.

Very frustrating and time consuming to say the least. For weeks, I've been chuckling to myself  like a little kid saying..."I can't believe this is working they way it should...this is great!" Now this...could it be a bad WIU? Should I do A factory reset? I no this is hard to discuss via this medium so I appreciate your time.

That depends on how you did it.

If you deleted it on the iPad and then re-downloaded it directly to the iPad, that should have installed the new version of the app. However, if you did the same thing via iTunes and syncing, without first updating the app in iTunes, then you would have installed the same version of the app that you had previously.

You an  check the app's version directly from the app by going to the More... screen and tapping App Settings. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to Version. If it says v1.1.0, you're using the updated app.

Regarding my home router....I don't believe anything has changed...I actually reconnected in just to make sure... I am connecting via the serial port with a USB- Serial adapter...perhaps it is the adapter. Barrry, shouldn't the wifi system work on the MTH signal eliminating  my home router? I tried that too as well, no response...

Barry...currently they both receive power at the same time when straiten up....they are both plugged in to the same multiple outlet strip. I hit the main button and they fire up....interestingly, I have been running trains all day with the DCS remote while working on layout shelves etc... and just know before I turn in...I  figured I'd give it one more shot and one engine out of 4 that are on the layout  was read by the WIU ....I took another train and put it on the same loop to see why would happen and it too was read  but....I did not have full control of all the functions via the iPad app ...only speed control....no sounds or lights.
