Oh, Great Collective of Knowledge, please help me. How do I safely remove the tabs that hold the power trucks onto the frame without destroying them?
I have a couple of Alco PAs that I'm modifying. And one C&O that derails at any curve, so I want to clean it up as best as possible.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Well, the short answer is, you don't, at least not every time. It's possible to get them off some of the time, but certainly not every time.
The best way I've come up with is a very small screwdriver to pry up the teeth on one side and then the other. That will usually get them off, but sometimes they break. I keep extras around for when they break. 
It's been years since I bothered to try to save those tinnerman clips. I Just break them off and use new ones.
Jeff Kane discounts them when you buy 25 at a time.
A good pick can lift the tab enough to rock it off. Squeeze back before installing. Only takes me a few seconds and I have only had to replaced one or two. G

Figured it would be best to buy replacement, but thought I'd ask first.
I swapped out some front trucks and destroyed the c-clips in the process. Already received a set of replacements. With just 12 that could be a life time supply!
