Trying to find MTH model #

If you use 20-2136-1, it comes up here, but no manual listed.

The 'Premiere' model is shown on page 15 of the 1996 summer catalog; the locomotive is simply listed as Item #2136.

Finally, it looks like this same model (but cab #1560) is up for grabs currently at eBay - listed as 'New'.  As a last resort you might inquire with the seller regarding a copy of the manual.

thanks, is the reset process the same for all pre PS 2 engines on the Z4000 transformer?

All the Protosound boards have the same reset sequence.

The label says "electronic reverse by QSI" and "equipped with electronic horn or Protosound...".  So "maybe" it has PS-1?  Or maybe it operates conventionally?  Seems noncommittal to me.

Perhaps open it up to see if it has a battery.  Battery = PS-1 (replace with a BCR before powering up); no battery = conventional?

Tony:  According to he MTH Illustrated Price and Rarity Guide #1, it is 20-2136-0 Three Rail with horn, 20-3136-1 Three Rail with ProtoSounds. So depending on how it is equipped it should be on of these two. The book does not list any RailKing AS-616.

I opened it up when i got it and it had a white battery, so i swapped out a green one and it powered up and worked.  My guess is the prior owner did not open it up and check the battery.  I will say replacing the battery was a pain.  It was under the boards.  All the other ones i have had to replace were much easier.
