Home of the Minnesota Transportation Museum, this former Great Northern facility was built in 1907. It replaced an original built in 1882.  There is a wide variety of Twin Cities related equipment and memorabilia. Here's a look at some of the equipment.

First, "Hustle Muscle," the first SD-45 locomotive, 1966. 3,600 HP, at maximum power it consumed 187 gallons of fuel per hour.

Lots of equipment outside. C&NW baggage car, Milwaukee Road coach, and the first-ever Vista dome, built by the CB&Q.

First time I ever walked on a turntable, I think. Not counting the one in the B&O Museum.

There's lots more, but I hope this gives you an idea of what's in store. Great gift shop, too! It is located at 193 Pennsylvania Ave. E, St. Paul.  www.trainride.org.

Thanks again, Big_Boy_4005 and Mill City, for another great adventure.
