Just when I thought I was done with this catalog.... @MrMuffin'sTrains has to go and pull me back in with two last minute custom runs. Holy cow. I think I can resist the Pacemaker one (maybe), but the all-black with silver trim looks amazing and I can't believe I'm going to add another one of these to my order. Maybe I'll drop the gunmetal version with the spoked drivers...

Kudos to two more beautiful designs!

The black version is extremely tempting. It feels like a subtle callback to the '99 model Lionel made in low numbers.

Depending on how the normal production models turn out, this might be a winner.

Yes! I have that one, and other than the "Train of the Year" version from Lionel with the black/gold 125th anniversary trim I was surprised they didn't offer a black/dark version.

One thing that just came to mind that I didn't really care for before, but what is the "correct" color for the New York Central herald on the front of the locomotive?

The previous iterations by Lionel had it colored red, but a few others have had it colored blue, and it looks like this run will have the herald colored black. I know this locomotive was shrouded twice, so there is likely more than one correct answer...
