Two New 'Collector Color' American Flyer Paint Colors

Dare I say it, but both colour swatches look darker than the original paint?

That's a fair comment, but unfortunately the color swatches are just a computer image that varies quite a bit with various computer monitors or printers. When the paint is held up to the actual engine or car it is a match.

it was just an observation and I understand that the computer image can look different to the original.

Just as a suggestion, perhaps it could be possible to spray a sample of the new paint on a test card and then photograph it it next to a 'Circus' engine to indicate the shade being the same.

We paint the can lids with the left over paint from each batch so you know exactly what is in it. Though angles and lighting can make it tricky to show, attached is the paint can lid with the color next to the engine & car.

Bill, on a related note, I bought a can of orange paint from Hennings at the last York show, and as instructed I recently purchased some naphtha thinner for it, but I don't recall what I was told the mix should be for using it in an air brush.  Could you tell me?  I’m looking forward to using it on a bunch of AF handcar bodies I’m restoring.
