But the PRR never had the SD40-2. The PRR was long gone by the time EMD came out with the Dash 2 line. The PRR had the SD40 which Lionel made.

Absolutely 100% true.  But PRR SD40 #6100 was rebuilt later in life as an SD40-2r, so this is our "what if" version.

Since Lionel already did the PRR SD40, that market is probably satisfied.  No need to redo a loco that was just recently made.  The Lionel SD45 isn't currently in production so we don't have the option of making that at this time.

Even though it's not prototypical, many 3-railers have embraced this offering (based on pre-orders) and are excited to add a unit that's a little different than their current locos, but it still fits in with them.  We've received many compliments that the -2 provides a nice visual break and works (looks nice) with a string of 40's and 45's.  But yes, we've also received comments regarding it not being prototypical.

Just ordered the Susie q!

Chris,

You're all set.  The Susie Q should be a beauty and a nice match with other Susie Q locos.

Thank you for making this engine available. I like "What If" paint schemes. Just ordered the PRR.

Mark,

We have fun making "what-if" schemes.  Only so many truly prototypical options out there.

I like "what if" paint schemes too, including some of the fun fantasy schemes on MTH boxcars over the last few years.  Nobody who comes to my house will ever gasp in horror at a model that was never built for one of my railroads.

I see that a few members have received and paid their invoice. I have not received an invoice for my PRR. Have I been forgotten? I still want the PRR. Please advise. Thank you.

Mark

Mark, you're not forgotten.  I've got you covered.  You're paid in full for the PRR.  The only people to get invoices were those people that had a balance due.

Everyone should get an automated USPS email with tracking number when we prepare shipping labels.  Just be aware that there can be a couple of weeks between preparation of label (and tracking notification) and when the item physically gets into UPS's hands and shows up in their system.  And we're still a few weeks away from even preparing the labels.  We need to get engines from Lionel first.  We're just getting all our ducks in a row so when we do get them, we can get them out ASAP.

Got my invoice!

Which one did you order, Chris...PRR or Susquehanna?

Susquehanna.

Have a Legacy SD45 waiting to pair up with it!

Also have a FP45 and a furx sd40 that I think would be pretty awesome together with them as well.

Nice!  I really like the Susquehanna paint scheme.  I hope you will post a few pictures of the pair after you receive the SD40-2!
