Stu, these look great! When is the preorder deadline?
Thanks
But the PRR never had the SD40-2. The PRR was long gone by the time EMD came out with the Dash 2 line. The PRR had the SD40 which Lionel made.
If the Club did the SD45, They may have a winner on their hands... unless Lionel was planning the PRR SD45 in the next catalog.

Thank YOU! To meet Lionel's schedule to piggyback on their run, our deadline is October 15th. I know it's short notice, but to reserve, only a deposit is necessary:

Absolutely 100% true. But PRR SD40 #6100 was rebuilt later in life as an SD40-2r, so this is our "what if" version.
Since Lionel already did the PRR SD40, that market is probably satisfied. No need to redo a loco that was just recently made. The Lionel SD45 isn't currently in production so we don't have the option of making that at this time.
Even though it's not prototypical, many 3-railers have embraced this offering (based on pre-orders) and are excited to add a unit that's a little different than their current locos, but it still fits in with them. We've received many compliments that the -2 provides a nice visual break and works (looks nice) with a string of 40's and 45's. But yes, we've also received comments regarding it not being prototypical.

As a 'what if' scheme, it would have been even better if the PRR SD40-2 loco had been in a 1970's era paint scheme like the Burlington Northern, Chessie System, Grand Trunk Western, and ILLINOIS CENTRAL GULF with at least a bold stripe of high visibility color like red or yellow.

Just ordered the Susie q!
Thank you for making this engine available. I like "What If" paint schemes. Just ordered the PRR.

The run of SD40-2 catalogued in 2018 v2 do not appear to have ditch lights. Will these non-catalogued engines have ditch lights as shown in your pictures?

Chris,
You're all set. The Susie Q should be a beauty and a nice match with other Susie Q locos.

Mark,
We have fun making "what-if" schemes. Only so many truly prototypical options out there.

Do METCA members get any discounts?
Ditch lights?

I've confirmed with Lionel that the PRR and Susquehanna will have illuminated ditch lights as shown. Also, the Santa Fe Warbonnet units being offered by TCA National will also have illuminated ditch lights.

Got my invoice!

Which one did you order, Chris...PRR or Susquehanna?
Lionel is making only 25 of each of these paint schemes. The Susquehanna is sold out. We can still take reservations for 3 more Pennsylvania Railroad loco's. You can reserve one here:

I like "what if" paint schemes too, including some of the fun fantasy schemes on MTH boxcars over the last few years. Nobody who comes to my house will ever gasp in horror at a model that was never built for one of my railroads.
Hey Guys,
We've had 1 reservation spot for a Susquehanna open up. If you're interested, email me at address in my profile. Only 25 being made and the other 24 engines are already spoken for.
Stu
Just paid my invoice for the Susquehanna. I've been waiting for the right Lionel engine in this scheme for a while and this fit the bill!

Susquehanna.
Have a Legacy SD45 waiting to pair up with it!
Also have a FP45 and a furx sd40 that I think would be pretty awesome together with them as well.
I see that a few members have received and paid their invoice. I have not received an invoice for my PRR. Have I been forgotten? I still want the PRR. Please advise. Thank you.

Mark, you're not forgotten. I've got you covered. You're paid in full for the PRR. The only people to get invoices were those people that had a balance due.
Everyone should get an automated USPS email with tracking number when we prepare shipping labels. Just be aware that there can be a couple of weeks between preparation of label (and tracking notification) and when the item physically gets into UPS's hands and shows up in their system. And we're still a few weeks away from even preparing the labels. We need to get engines from Lionel first. We're just getting all our ducks in a row so when we do get them, we can get them out ASAP.

Nice! I really like the Susquehanna paint scheme. I hope you will post a few pictures of the pair after you receive the SD40-2!
NOT LionelLLC,
Thank you for the reply. I forgot I paid in full when I ordered.
Mark
If you ordered one of these, it should be in your hands by now. If you ordered and didn't receive it, get in touch with me ASAP.
Susquehanna's are all gone.
We have 3 PRR loco's available. You can pick up at York if you order and I will bring it there.

Only 2 Lionel LEGACY PRR Pennsylvania Railroad SD40-2 locomotives are available. These are here now; In Stock. If you want to get one, you can pick up in person at the Greenberg show in Edison NJ this weekend. Save yourself the shipping. Available on the METCA site.
Happy Thanksgiving.
