I picked up a rather down-on-its luck 520 with an eye to repowering it using the Lionel Vulcan chassis from the Yellow Trolley Project...

As it turned out, the Vulcan chassis was a bit too short for the job, so, after getting the original chassis running, I started working on the shell.  I was unsuccessful in adding new tabs, so I decided to fabricate a bracket and use screws at both ends...

I dubbed the result "Cousin Itt", as there is a resemblance in its lines and in the way it scurries about with gi-raffes in tow.

Since the factory pantograph is missing, I considered an HO scale brass pan:

And a trolley pole (ex-MTH):

In the end, I installed the trolley pole.  Might get a factory pan as well in the future...
