Hi, New to the forum. I am have been into Lionel and O Gauge trains my whole life. I recently got my hands on a new in packaging 2007 Union Pacific Freight Set. SKU. 6-30051. Its a really cool set but it has been preserved in it original packing for 14 years so i'm hesitating opening it. Does anyone have any idea what something like this might be worth?

There’s nothing special about that modern set, which listed for $500 and likely sold for $450 or less when it was released. Now, it’s simply old stock.
These trains aren’t investments, so don’t expect an appreciated value. Sell it if you don’t want it, but don’t think you’ll be enriched beyond what dealers initially got.
I would put a price of $400 on it and wait for a buyer.
