Can anyone tell me the correct up ore car colors over time? For instance, yellow, what years? Red, and so on...

I guess I never really knew that the UP even had "ore cars".
Patrick Dorin had an Iron Ore Railroads book that had photos of UNION PACIFIC ore cars.

When I worked for the UP in 1980s the ore cars were painted aluminum with red lettering. As a result of all the mergers, new freight car color standards were adopted and i think the ore cars were going to be painted black. The cars would not have been painted yellow. That was reserved for cars with cushion under frames.
