ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though unions are big here in the Pacific NW, I had no idea what a 'Union Rat' was before reading this post, nor had I ever even seen a photo of one of these inflatables. Must be a Northeast thing? I had to look up what this was all about before I had a clue.
No Lee, they are used here in St. Louis, Mo, and the surrounding area.

Ah, that explains why I'd never heard of them. That, and I'm not a big fan of unions...
I never heard of these before, and I've never seen them in use.
Only in America, can you not only buy a massive inflatable rat...
...but you can buy them in numerous sizes and styles!
Never heard of them here in the Capital District of NY. I've seen folks picketing, no rats.
I had to read the information at the link that Lee provided.
Never heard of them before, either, and they used to make autos and appliances here...maybe they should make some large Oriental peasant figures, as that is where the jobs have gone...
Rich, Must be a NJ/NYC thing.....
That particular RAT on the layout is RATZO. It has a motion sensor and speaks rat to the anyone in the area. It is annoying when under the layout wiring.
I am a non-union contractor on the job and the rat keeps appearing.
I suppose I should take my coffee breaks and lunch.
You should see the size of the cats that chase them.

Previous comment says ST. Louis had them too.
They sure can use one here in Bethlehem township at Just Born-the Peeps factory! 50 union workers lost their jobs from scabs!
What am I missing? Where is the model railroad connection?
I'm clueless here-
