At the Medina, Ohio show today, someone brought a Marx prototype and was showing it to the Marx parts dealer there.  It

was a #21 A-A set refinished as Rock Island, similar to the plastic E-7's that were produced.  This pair had the Marx factory prototype lable on it.  Although the 21's are not my favorite Marx, although I'd bought a new pair when I was a kid,  these were fairly attractive in the Rock Island livery, and definitely something not everyone has on their shelves.

Sorry, no.  The guy had it wrapped in a towel and unwrapped it to display it to the Marx parts guy.  I did not have a camera with me, and was in a hurry to run through the rest of the show.  Apparently, the owner got it very cheap, for the Marx guy was

kidding him about offering him three times what he paid for it, and both laughed about

that.  It was a very professional looking refinish of a Marx #21, so much so that you

had to look hard to tell it was a #21.  This was at the Medina show south of Cleveland,

and somebody in the Cleveland area may know who has it.
