Near my home, there's a pair of tunnels under the Santa Fe tracks that's just too unusual not to share. I don't know the full story behind these tunnels, but they're marked as non-public roads and the clearance is only 7 feet '7 inches. I first heard about these from a church member as there's a local board that posts various things in the neighborhood including someone getting stuck in the tunnels. From the shape and size of the tunnels, I figure a pair of European H.O. portals would work. The interiors are steel culvert pipes and the road is barely wide enough for a standard automobile or full sized pickup truck. There's a separate underpass for cyclists and pedestrians to the west that's visible in the last photo at the far right.
