I've seen discussions here in the past on running steam/diesel combo lash-ups and wanted to give it a try. Both locomotives are Legacy set up to run as a Train.

I don’t know which is better - your lashup or your layout. Both are outstanding.
I have three consists similar in nature: Up 844 with a UP SD-40, a SP Daylight 4449 with PA AA units, and a C&O Allegheny with a C&O GP40. When pulling long trains, unless it is the Big Boy or EM1 the Diesel helpers keep the steamers going strong. Its fun to mix them up.
