Have old Rail King Rugged Rails F-3 PS1.
I would like to upgrade it to a PS2 or 3.
I have tried finding any F-3 PS2/3 but they all seem to be ABA sets. I was hoping to find a single A unit and just swapping the shells.
Any suggestions on finding the single units or would you recommend replacing boards. (if they are available)

Considering it's a single RK F3, why not just buy a updated version with PS/2 or PS/3, it'll probably be the cheapest route.
If its Rugged Rails I really dont believe any were made with PS-1 Rugged Rails line came out after the transition to PS2 I would guess your Rugged RAils F3 is locosound not PS1 What is the stock number? Does it end in a -0
Thanks gents. I have been trying to find a single F-3 engine but no luck. I suspect I am capable of just changing the sell. It seems like almost all road names came in ABA sets after my single f-3 died.
Your looking for a loco like rugged Rails F-3 #33-2021-1. Apparently MTH made a few rugged rails f-3's that were equipped with 3v ps2. I, too have been looking for one of those, rare as hens teeth, apparently. The size makes them perfect for small layouts.
