I did not use a flash...just the yard lighting. Matt
They have retro-reflective decal graphics. At night in the dark with a single source light the decals glow back at the light source.

Andrew I noticed that on a engine last night. So I'll have to drive down and see some night.

If you put light on the train from an angle such that it doesn't simply "bounce" right back at you, you can avoid the reflective paint/decals from going "crazy."
