Hi,

in the MTH website under the 20-3414-1 page I read that the unit could be converted to a 2-rail: "Proto-Scale 3-2 3-Rail/2-Rail Conversion Capable". In the manual isn't explained how . Do you know how to do it? Do I need to purchase a convertion kit? Do you know the p/n and the cost?

Another question: could be converted to PS3? If yes: how much the cost of a kit?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure these were cancelled. # 20-3021-2 doesn't even have a shipped date so who knows if ever came to be,  #20-3218-2 on the site says it was cancelled in 2006. Plus the # Turambar has does not come up as an engine. The past Yorks I've talked to Mike if he was going to 2 rail a bigboy and he told me no.

I have the one from 2004 and I'm planning to send it out to have new tires machined for 2rail.

OK, I see the p/n 20-3121-2 and I was sure it was a ptototype never produced.

But I'm talking of the 20-3414-1 in this webpage: http://mthtrains.com/content/20-3414-1. I find it in on-line shops, so I suppose is (or was) in production.

MTH declare that the conversion to 2-rail is possible, but I don't find any information about it.

Anybody know? Or simply the website is wrong?

The same conversion capability is stated even for 20-3218-2 and 20-3219-2 (but both ones was cancelled): is possible is an aborted feature?

Thanks again

Wow. Ok. I didn't see that before and every time I put the # in it didn't come up. With a 3-2 engine all you need to do is flip the switch to 2 rail and take off the rollers. With running PS2 in 2 rail you need to make sure that the DCS- polarity switch is to the side of the engine that the positive is on. And then if you run it the opposite way you need to flip the switch. PS3 takes care of this polarity issue. Hope thus helps s bit. I can post more when I get home. Wow and I asked Mike at York. If you can find one great.
