Upgrading the Lionel 7794 0-8-0 NYC switch engine and tender to LionChief?

This is a nicely detailed conventional power switch engine that was included in a Lionel R-T-R set.

Has anyone attempted to convert this "conventional" engine to the LionChief control system? A LionChief 6-30233 0-8-0 version is also shown.

Here is another loose circuit board advertised as 691 LNCF016 LionChief PCB Sound, e-unit, control board #421.
