uploading sound files from engine to computer

Use a separate test track, this upload will be very long.  If this file is on MTH web just download it from there.  G

Lot's of separate tracks in the round house I can use as a test track.   Doesn't need to be on fixed 1 output?  Already have the new file, just want to save the old one.

114 minutes to upload a file from the engine to the computer.... Yikes....  And no it doesn't have to be fixed 1 but I  wouldn't try running anything at the same time.

I saved a diesel engine file once, don't think it was 114 minutes, but it took a LONG time. I am guessing steamers may have bigger files?

Ok, need more help.  Trying to install a file and the computer still can't find the engine.  This time it's all by its self on variable 1 channel set to fix.  Anymore advise?

Can't have any other engine receiving power       anywhere  and is the tiu  on......May have to use an aux power supply along with the var channel.

Aux power removed, all outputs removed but fixed one, engine on it's own track with nothing else.  DCS loader still can't find it.

I'd suggest that you attempt a Recover Engine. Make sure that the TIU is #1 and do it on a test track, with no other engines drawing power:

Menu/System/Engine Setup/Recover Engine.

Ok, I figured out what I was doing wrong.  All input voltages to the other channels need to be removed.  Only Fix1 should be powered.  Download and install 6 mins.  My TIU is hidden deep under the layout so I really didn't want to mess with it but I know now what to do in the future.  Thanks everyone.

Where do you download additional sounds from the MTH website??  I am not seeing any there.

Also, how do you add addition sounds to a PS2 locomotive??  Do the sounds have to be downloaded onto the TIU?  Or downloaded directly to the locomotive?  Thanks.

You don't.  A single sound file is loaded, you can't pick and chose sounds.  You can change to a different engine sound set though.   G

So, Basically what is on my locomotive, I have to use.  Cannot add custom sounds or anything??
