US Hobbies GP35

I have two like that and they run beautifully.    I assumed they might be Max Grey, the predecessor to US Hobbies.    Mine have the fabricated gear boxes too.

I replaced the motors with Pittman cans and added pickups to the wheels for 8 wheel pickup.   They run very smoothly and quietly.    I can't think of anything else other than lightly lubing everything, including the gearboxes.    I guess if the grease in the gearboxes is hard, it should be removed and replaced, not added to.

So hard to identify some of that early brass, no name plate, looks like there was something stuck to the bottom of the fuel tank at one time that might have had the ID or importer on it.  I plan a complete cleaning and relubrication of the drive train before any use of the model.  Should have it out of layaway just before Christmas.   Mike
