Years ago, I used to visit Pat Hennebery at Valley Model Trains in Wappingers Falls, New York, to purchase craftsman kits and model-building supplies. It was a great place to browse. Pat had everything you might need for making railroad models. Later on, I began to order over the phone. A trip to VMT was part of the enjoyment of model railroading.

I too had several opportunities to visit that store. Pat and his associates ( I believe Stan Stokroci?) were always attentive and helpful. The first time we made the trek from NYC the store for some reason was closed. This was perplexing but there was a sign that read back in a couple of hours later this afternoon. So, we hung out in a diner, had lunch, walked around town and visited a little guitar store, went back for coffee at the diner. We finally got some change made to make the phone call that appeared on the notice on the door. Left a message. Waited another hour , about to head home , Pat opened the store. His son had just been born earlier that day! He was a glow happy. My Buddy John Foley bought all the S scale brass he had in the store! Wow! Over the years, we would visit the store happily. What a great Guy Pat is. Last I spoke to him on the phone he closed the retail store in Wappingers falls. He established a mail order business (Big Buck Buildings?).
Sorry to hear that health was the issue. Hope he and family are doing better.
Sorry to hear of the passing of Pat Hennebery. My condolences to his family. I enjoyed my visits to his store.

Thanks for the link, Arthur. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. He was a good guy.
I'm sorry to hear of his passing also, he was a really nice person and always willing to help. When I was modeling on Sn3, I used to call up there for some kits that he happened to have, he was always very polite and cheerful. My condolences go out to his family, God Bless him and may he rest in peace.
RIP Pat, you will always be a fond memory of kindness and model railroaders support.
I am very sad to hear of his passing.
Condolences to Pat's family and friends. I used to buy structure kits from VMT--the selection was truly impressive and service was first-rate. Wish I could have met Pat in person.
