Happy Fourth Gary, Thanks for a great video. I have visited the Essex Steam Train but not for a few years. My recollection was, they had a 2-6-0 steam locomotive. From the looks of the video and the speed the train was running at, the track work must be substantially upgraded along with running a much heavier locomotive. You have stirred my interest in visiting again when we visit family in Meriden. Bill

That's a Chinese 2-8-2 that they modified to have a New Haven look. Did the hand on the throttle with her a few years ago. Highly recommended and fun. Valley is worth the trip. We've done the dinner train several times also.
