I have a Z-500 transformer through a TIU varialble channel 1

Question: with the Z-500 set to max when ramping up with the thumb wheel the voltage jumps to 5V on one of 3 TIU I have. I have reset the remote with no change, how do you reset below 5V?

Problem: when operating a Lionel Polar Express the air whistle operates constantly, is there a fix for this?

Sincerely,

Phil

Phil,

interesting my other 2 TIU's start below 5V

Actually, that's a bug in DCS that sometimes occurred after a software upgrade. As I recall, if you use the soft keys to set the starting track voltage to 5 volts or greater, you'll never be able to set it to below 5 volts again.

Can you offer any fix for the constant whistle problem?

Are you using the Z-Controller with the Z750 brick? If so, that's most likely causing the problem. Just use a barrel jack adapter to connect the brick directly to the variable channel's input.

The issue is that both the Z-Controller and the TIU variable channels chop the sine wave to lower voltage, and some engines don't like it when that is done twice.
