Vertical mechanical O gauge accessories?

Hey Folks,

Did/does anybody make any accessories for O gauge (toy or scale) that have vertical activity, such as a flag running up and down a pole, or a monkey climbing a tree, or a crane arm going up and down, or anything else? (Airplanes and helicopters going in circles is not really what I mean.)

Watching things light up or swing side-to-side is not very exciting to me. The closest thing I have seen to vertical activities are the crossing gates going up and down, and bubbles going up a tube for the oil pumps, . . . but I hope there is something more.

If none in O gauge, anything folks have seen in HO? (Tall HO accessories do not look bad on my layout because I run small diesels and locos, like the BEEP and other small switchers.)

Mannyrock, one of my favorites, and popular with kids visiting is Lionel’s Triple Action Gantry Crane! Up, down, around, and the magnet on later ones is strong enough to lift culverts, rails, and I even glued washers under the domes of the cement “bottles” found in so many gondolas.

The K-Line Starlight Diner and Ford Animated Billboard features a man pasting a sign using a vertical up and down motion. The K-Line water tower has an impressively long vertical bubbling tube. The MTH animated fire station has a man dropping vertically on the fire pole (but hard to see). MTH had an operating waving American flag that never worked well.

Oil Derricks with the pump arm movement. Gabe the lamplighter, where he climbs the ladder to the bank of lights. Lionel had several accessories in the carnival series, Test O' Strength, balancing man which both have vertical movement. 497 coal elevator, Sandy Andy ore loader.

If you go back a bit there's always the live steam engine and its associated crane.
