Thank you for posting your video, it is a masterful piece of work.  I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to the WMSR.

Regarding the whistle, it is a 3-chime Hancock.  Mr. Kevin Rice (our CMO) installed it as he thought it had a better sound than others.  I am glad to hear people like the sound and appreciate the feedback.

For those who are long familiar with the WMSR, you may have also noticed less smoke this year.  After our valve rebuild in March and April, we are seeing a 61% drop in overall fuel use due to significantly increased operating efficiency.  We are going to be running trials in July to increase 734's maximum tonnage rating which will result in even greater savings through the reduction in use of the helper.

Thank you to all who support the WMSR, your assistance is greatly appreciated!

I've ridden in the cab of WMSR 734 twice and got to operate GP30 #502 as well. What machines. Would like to get up there later this year to see 734 one more time as well.

Considering I grew up going to the B&O Museum, climbing on, photographing, and touching the 1309, seeing that thing run will be something else. For all those years, who would've EVER thought she'd be brought back to life!

Speaking of the whistle....being a B&O guy and growing up and still living not far from B&O Metropolitan Sub (now CSX), the B&O 6 chime whistle that was on 734 some years ago was great!

Great pics. I really would love to do a cab ride someday.  Maybe when they have the 1309 running!
