I visited San Francisco on vacation this past week and got several videos of the beautifully restored PCC streetcars that are still in service along the waterfront area.
Enjoy!

Did you ride any? I know some of them had a plaque telling the history of the car on the wall inside.

We didn't ride the PCC's, but we did ride the cable cars which was a lot of fun, especially when you're standing on the runningboards!
Thanks for posting this, Brody. Many of us Forumites are old enough to have ridden PCC's in regular service all over the US and Canada. San Francisco did a very nice thing in modernizing the PCC's without changing the appearance, and then recreating legacy paint schemes from all over North America.
Very nice video, Brody. Too bad you didn’t have a chance to ride some of them. I was in San Fran several years ago and was able to ride several of them. One day, we were at the first stop on one of the lines and several cars were lined up. We waited until the one from Brooklyn (where I was born and raised) came up. They are fun to ride. As for the cable cars, riding the running boards was interesting... until a big truck was passing!!!
In case you’re interested, here is a link to a page which gives details of the extensive fleet San Fran maintains.
I rode a MUNI one on Market Street 40 yeats ago. Also rode the mode which has a "grip" on life, the cable cars.
My wife and I were there a few years ago, and saw almost every one. We also rode the entire loop, pretty long run too. Each was painted for a different city that originally ran them. Of course I was partial to the Twin Cities Lines car. It happened to be one of the first cars we saw when we got down to the Embarcadero. If I remember correctly, this was one of only three cars wearing the paint of it's original line. It had come to San Francisco from NJ transit.

Here are a few of the others. Info on the entire fleet can be found here.
