Video recording my layout

I want to learn how to video my layout, but, so many different options out there. Gets very confusing . I DONT want to use my iPhone.

any suggestions as to what camcorder to buy or other cameras to use? I have a large layout about 35x25 so keeping a train in focus is important.

any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated
