For your viewing pleasure, some videos that I took of Amtrak yesterday (my trip from Deerfield Beach to Lakeland) and today (my son’s trip back south to Deerfield Beach).
On my trip yesterday, the consist was pretty long for a Silver Service train (14 pieces of rolling stock) and I had forgotten that Amtrak had restored the Dining Car to the Silver Star but only for Sleeping Car Passengers, so was surprised when I saw it roll by. So I guess I have to lay off of the “Silver Starver” nickname. My eyes did perk up when the first Amfleet behind the locos was numbered 25123, only one number off my “namesake” of 25124 LOL. I’m sure that 25124 has been part of one of the hundreds of Amtrak trains I’ve seen over the years, but never one that I caught on film or saw up close and personal on the platforms. Upon my arrival in Lakeland, my son who was picking me filmed the train coming in (that’s him leaning on the column at the 2:41 mark of the first video.
