I got a chance to chat with Vince himself at York on Thursday. He confirmed that the total number of locomotives of all types he brought to York was more than 400. It was around 1 pm Thursday when he told me he had already sold on the order of 78 engines. The man was doing brisk business!
Below is a snapshot of a happy Vince holding court in his York train domain.

Vince has been busy since April gathering BIG steam, Lionel and MTH. So much so that he’s back in a larger booth. But Vince is back big time for all the big steam lovers.
10/11/23 - Over 400 pieces steam and diesel
TraindieselOGR Forum Member SUPPORTING MEMBERDIGITAL SUBSCRIBER No, no, no, this is all just a rumor. There will be nothing to see so you all can just go about your business elsewhere in the York Halls! (If there is anything of consequence to report I’ll inform everyone on Friday of York week! )
Yeah, like, way to go Traindiesel! “Nothing to see here” you say. “Just go about your business elsewhere in the York Halls” you say. “If there is anything of consequence to report I’ll inform everyone” you say. So I took your word for it. When I arrived at York at noon on Thursday, I went off to visit the Blue and Silver halls first. No need for me to go to the Orange hall first ‘cause my ol’ buddy Traindiesel has got me covered and is going to post something if it turns out Vince has really got a big display of engines and bargains on big steam. Traindiesel didn’t post anything about it, so I figure nothing’s going on. When I finally get over to Vince’s in the Orange hall, I have to fight my way through noisy throngs of buyers waving fistfuls of cash in the air and shouting at Vince: “Shut Up And Take My Money!”. Almost 80 locomotives were gone at bargain prices before I even got into the fray. Traindiesel, I am starting to think you were pulling my leg the whole time! I emerge from this experience sadder that I arrived too late to get the best bargain on big steam, but I am now a bit wiser about believing whatever I read posted on internet forums.
