First Weaver, now Vince's. Hope this doesn't follow the pattern of "threes".

 

The Lionel A I bought from Vince's was a great deal with a great story.

Hmmm, I guess Vince forgot or decided not to take me up on my offer for future York Meets.  Anyway, lots of luck and happiness to Vince, Peggy & family on their new adventure!!

Vince always had a nice selection of engines. Will anyone be filling this void?

He will be at York in Oct. and then that's it. One Last Time.  I know I will stop and see what is there,I have picked some very nice engines from him,

DOC  Do you know if he'll be in the Orange hall at his usual place?

Vince called me about a week ago to go over the plan for getting everything from storage to the Orange Hall.

 

He has registered, and has the same booth. 

 

I also spoke with Trainpop, and he too will be there.

 

I know we will be busy, the store room inventory will be there in its entirety. 

Im figuring great deals. I know I've got my want list!

Nothing held back. Locomotives, sets, some rolling stock, even a bit of Department 56.

 

Itll be bitter sweet, one last time a vendor.

 

Going out in style! Looking forward (albeit with sadness) to it......

Orange Hall... Usually has been a corner booth right across the aisle from SideTrack Hobbies.  Often quite common to see a huge selection of locomotives and MTH passenger car sets.

Great to hear Vince will be there.  Hope to find a locomotive!  His booth is really fun.

The first hit google comes up with is this?  How many Vince's Trains could there be?  But it clearly states...

 

"Our move to sunny Florida is complete, but our train stock stayed behind in York! DO NOT ORDER FROM THE WEBSITE! (we have no way to access our storage until October when we are back in town) but feel free to browse to see some of the goodies we will have available at the York TCA meet in the fall. appreciate that. I saw that as well but I was hoping that their was an alternative site or way to get a list. Sounds like a stop at York

If I were you guys I wouldn't go to Vince's booth.  Nothing to see there, just move on to a different hall (at least until after I look through it first!).  

 

Besides, no one goes there anymore, it's too crowded!

There will definitely be bargains at Vince's booth at York later this month. He has had a nice run at York over the past several years and with help from Jim Mason and Trainpop has really made a name for himself.

 

Now that Vince has moved to sunny Florida here is an opportunity to snag some nice trains at bargain prices.

Steve you are correct. You will not find better deals. The trains and accessories are at cost. The dept 56 is way below cost to move. I may not be able to process credit cards as I closed my processing account. Thinking of getting the cube for the weekend. Still unsure

Since I've been fortunate enough to work with Vince, Peggy, and Trainpop, I've been amazed at the return customers, those who come show after show because they know they'll get honest value. Vince has work buyouts, estate sales, auctions and also gotten great deals from his suppliers for his faithful customers. Benifical to oth he and his customers. He could have sold the remaining inventory to one of the clearance dealers, but wants to thank his retuning, faithful customers.  Four days each show wears us out. I'm figuring October York will be insane. I'm hoping Saturday pack up will be a dream.

the crazy part will be set up. Hopefully, you folks clean the placed outside!

Truck's gassed, hand trucks are primed,  tool bag ready, coffee set, 24 hours till load up and pull out to the Orange Hall and Vince's Trains ONE LAST TIME!

Unfortunately, I had to cancel my York trip at the last minute. To Vince and family....best of luck and I hope our paths cross again. You were a class guy!

How do you identify them?

A sincere and heartfelt thank you to each and every one  of you who stopped by to visit or made a purchase with me at this meet.
I had planned to ride out into the sunset as this was my last York.  I had planned to ride out into the sunset as this was my last York.   The plans are partially derailed as I will not be consigning the remainder of my trains to another dealer .   Perhaps Chuck and Jim will fill my void but right now it's up in the air .  Again thank you everyone it's been a wonderful 15 year ride .

I almost held onto your ankle today so you couldn't leave, but that would have been undignified.  So instead, we'll have to join you for a drink at the beach!  But you'll need to come back to see my layout with all the goodies running that I bought from ye over the years.

You and Lynley(I probably spelled her name wrong) are perfect examples of the true York experience. We met more than a few years ago and have bonded ever since. I truly look forward to seeing both of you and consider you as very good friends. Without York we never meet. You have a spot in Sarasota anytime. We will have a blast!!! And when I return north I can't wait to play with the trains.
And just an aside but after the weekend this airport food isn't so good!

Thanks for everything Vince. You worked me through two of the most interesting purchases I ever made. The 2 MTH unshrouded N&W J's that were made into the "fire engine" and "police engine" with flashing LEDs by Jeff Steinbacher with Marty Fitzhenry's oversight.

 

And I bought others. Always a pleasure to deal with you.

It's never "Goodbye". You never get York out of your blood once you've been there. We all have great memories of the GREAT deals, meeting you and watching your family grow over the years, the GREAT deals, your great  selection of trains, the GREAT deals... And a big THANK YOU  for the corner on JJ.
