Everyone here wish they had a Layout like that.
From IMDB - This film presents one of the largest and most elaborate model train sets ever seen in a motion picture. In the race, Bob's locomotive is a Lionel Union Pacific M-10000 "Streamliner" (model #752E), and Dillingwell's is a Lionel New York Central "Hudson" (model #700E).

Not so vintage, but I just re-watched "Throw Momma from the Train" with Billy Crystal and Danny DeVito. In one scene Devito is playing with what appears to be a post-war Lionel set. Anyone else see it?

If you look close you can see the pilot truck was removed from the Hudson. Probably because of it derailing on the uneven track surface.
