I am new to the forum so I apologize in advance if I am posting in the wrong section. Several years ago, before my son was old enough, I purchased a Lionel conventional classics set for him. It is the set with the Virginian Rectifier. This Christmas was finally the right time. Currently, I am struggling with the horn and bell operation. I have a new MTH transformer with both sound and horn buttons but operation of horn/bell is at best sporadic. I am looking for thoughts as to whether there may be a problem with the new engine or possibly a compatibility issue with MTH transformer. That said, I have not had problems with other Lionel items. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
