Unfortunately, as we near the approach of the 1-year anniversary of enjoying the amazing Vision Line Big Boys, it appears a small problem as surfaced with my #4014. I was curious if any Big Boy owners on here experienced a similar issue:
-The coal load on my tender no longer depletes automatically as the Big Boy traverses the layout (the speed of the depletion can be altered using the labor chuff (EFX) settings). I typically run my Big Boy with the EFX set to maximum, thus the depletion is quite noticeable after let's say 20 to 30 minutes of running.
-The interesting caveat is that the demonstration mode still operates fine; I am able to lower and raise the coal load by pulling down on the boost/brake lever and using the combination of AUX1 + R respectively.
Thus you see the conundrum I am facing whereby I can get the coal load to work "manually" via demonstration mode, but it no longer depletes "automatically" as I run the Big Boy around my layout.
Naturally, I am sure a call into Lionel is needed here, but was curious if anyone experienced anything similar and/or had recommendations with respect to troubleshooting. Additionally, for those who have sent in their Big Boys for service where the issue was relegated to the tender specifically, did you have to send in the entire Big Boy, or were you just able to ship in the tender?
