Hi Bill, The Boston Metro Hirailers are in Wilmington, on the North Shore. Marty Fitzhenry's layout is in Dedham, just south of Boston, if you don't mind travelling a few miles further south. Most people feel it is worth the extra time to see it, since it runs with live catenary, among other spectacular features.

Bill,

My sister lives only a couple of miles away from the scenic railroad in Meredith, NH.  It is a great place to visit, and I am sure you will enjoy your trip on the railway. Have done it several times and it is still fun.

One of the largest Harley Davidson dealerships on the East Coast is right next to railroad headquarters.  You and Judy can always trade in your car right there and ride home in style on a Harley  Boy, would Judy like that.

I do not fish and hate being on the water. I spent 4 years in the Navy, and seen enough water to last a few life times. Also I do not have the patience.

JimQ has already offered to take me to the club's layout and also to Marty's. We are working on the details now.

Actually Dotty, I will be in your vicinity when I come over in October. I hope I catch up with you and Marty at York, and maybe we can meet up again. I'd love to say hello to Ralph!

Enjoy your trip up here to New Hampster. Head on over to Lincoln, and you can see the B&M's Flying Yankee in the final stages of restoration at the Hobo RR. The Conway Scenic RR is a wonderful take, and it houses a very nice layout in the freight station. Finally, if headed to Meridith, head to the Klickety Klack RR in Wolfboro. Huge layout there, and he sells some O gauge in the store.

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express on South Porter St. It is about 2 miles from friends I was stationed with in the military back in the late 70's early 80's at Keesler AFB, MS.

Thanks for the info. Don't think we will have time to do the Klickety Klack or Hobo RR. We rode the Conway Scenic RR in October 2006 and really enjoyed it as well as the drive across the Kangamangus Highway.
