Our 2018 summer vacation put my wife, daughter, and I in Minneapolis this past weekend before we started our return trip back to Western NY. What better way to start that trip could there be then a stop at Elliot, and his wonderful wife Tammy’s home in Stillwater MN. They were very gracious hosts and I thank them much for the time and the great recommendation for a meal in Green Bay at the Titletown Brewery!
On to the layout. I took a few photos, but it was clearly apparent that Elliot’s great thread provides all the photographs necessary to share the project on an ongoing basis. What I can provide is a clear statement that you can’t get from the photos what you get when you walk into the layout! It was truly an experience to see this in person and I would encourage anyone who can get there to do so. Especially with this upcoming weekends open invitation.
The layout is truly the best ‘O Gauge’ layout I’ve ever seen created in the true sense of an operating model railroad. Elliot took the time to display the Google map of the Twin Cities area explaining how he recreated the area in his layout. I left there with the feeling of, Why can’t I live near here? Our stay was fairly brief but certainly left me wanting to come back for more. Thank you Elliot and Tammy and I hope to get back for one of your operating sessions!
