I've got a chance to pick up a set of the Lionel Conventional Classic Wabash AB F Units. This is a road name totally off my radar but they are such a great looking combo that it's tough to pass up. Anyway, what do you run with these? Did anybody make a decent set of passenger cars?

Looking for suggestions.

Wabash F units mainly pulled freight; they depended on E units and a handful of PAs to pull passenger trains; I believe they also had some Geeps that were boiler equipped as well that were generally tied to Chicago commuter service duty.

That said, Williams made a string of Madison style 6 wheel truck heavyweight cars that are blue with silver roofs.  Lionel made a string of their MPC era heavyweight passenger cars for a Fallen Flags series they produced, a Madison car sized heavyweight set, as well as a set of shorty plastic streamlined cars that comes with their FT diesel in a starter set.

I have a four car Wabash Madison Car Set from the 90's.

The series is 6-1906.  this would make a nice Wabash

Passenager Set with the AB F-3 units.

I believe you can pick up a set of these Passenager Cars

at Train Meets or with some Forum Dealers listed above.

From my prospective the Lionel Conventional Classic Series

is worth the cost for great looking, and running sets from

years past.

I hope this helps you in making your decision.

Many thanks,
