Hello everyone,
If this has been done before my apologies, I don't think Lionel manufactures a bracket system for this type of mounting,
so i made my own. I wanted to mount my Legacy base upright on the wall for two reasons, one i want it next to all my other electronics which are also mounted on the wall, and two i didn't want it laying flat on a shelf or table because it would be in the way. If you mount the Legacy base upright the way it's manufactured the CAB2 will fall out of the Legacy base, so i made a wooden base and will list the materials and details below. See photos below.
Material / details
Two pieces of basic 1/2 inch plywood which were cut on an angle from zero to 3 1/2. This measurement comes from placing the Legacy base against to the wall in an upright position. The upper part of the legacy base will lay flat and the bottom will protrude out 3 1/2 inches. Once i had this measurement i cut my two sections out of my plywood.
Other materials two one inch L brackets, and a few 1/2 screws.
MEASUREMENT MARKINGS FROM ZERO TO 3 1/2
WHEN OPENING UP THE BASE YOU MUST REMOVE THE PLUG FOR THE CHARGER SWITCH
THIS IS THE CHANNEL SELECT BUTTON WHEN OPENING THE BASE UP YOU MUST BECAREFUL
THERE'S A GREY BUTTON WHICH YOU WILL SEE IN THE NEXT PICTURE THAT WILL FALL RIGHT
OUT WHILE DISASSEMBLING. THIS MUST BE REINSTALLED WHEN ASSEMBLING.
