WBB New Haven Pass. cars? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I'm asking this on behalf of a friend, who is thinking of either getting these or an MTH Railking set of pass. cars. Is the paint scheme on the WBB 60ft NH aluminum streamlined passenger cars correct. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

The Orange stripe (nicknamed Mcginnis gold) is correct from the 1950s on. Before Patrick Mcginnis took over they had green stripe. The only incorrect car of both Williams and MTH Railking is the New Haven never had any dome cars.

Except that I've never seen a prototype orange stripe NH car that didn't have a black roof.

All silver cars ,yes:

But, orange stripe - always with the black, smooth (non-corrugated) roof:

All the WbB, I believe, have silver, corrugated roofs.

I'm not sure about the Railking, but I know that MTH made these cars in their premier line (18" cars) with the correct paint scheme, but with smooth sides and roof.

Check out MTH Railking 30-67725 on their website. Silver car, orange stripe over the windows, black roof. They look great.
