This is specifically for the Williams by Bachmann Baldwin Demonstrator Sharknose.

This may help someone in need of a B-unit in Demonstrator paint (or other)

I wanted a second B-unit for my set and could not find one anywhere.  So, I purchased a B in a different road name.  Then, on Bachmann's parts site, I found the Demonstrator shell for $30.

It isn't quite a direct swap as the new unit forced the shell to sit higher than all others in the consist.  No worries...it is an easy fix.

My set, after the shell swap...

Quite a difference...

After removing the trucks, I discovered where the added height comes from...

...the humps that the frame rests upon are different.

The stock Demonstrator's humps have flat tops...

While the Pennsy unit had rounded humps...

All that needs to be done, is to take a large file across both humps at the same time.  A short while later it will look like the Demonstrator's.  May need to test fit to get the correct height.  Repeat for the other truck.

After filing flat...

The final result...

Will add a little grey paint to the details to match the stock units.
